This 10-metre long concertina book of illustrations by legendary, Romanian-born American cartoonist Saul Steinberg (1914–1999) takes us through opulent worlds, landscapes and architectures, all of which are punctuated by a singular, continuous, horizontal line. Best known for his work with The New Yorker, Steinberg first created The Line in 1954, representing something of a manifesto about the conceptual possibilities of the artist-drawn, ink-on-paper line. Wonderfully re-published by Nieves (Zurich).
